When chatting with strangers online, you should avoid sharing details that could be used to locate or identify you. Never share the following:
- Your full name, phone number, or home address.
- Personal email addresses or social media profiles (unless you trust the person fully).
- Financial credentials, credit card numbers, or bank details.
- Passwords, security questions, or private accounts.
- Your current physical location or details about where you work/go to school.
Guidelines for Video & Voice Chats
Video and voice modes provide a direct face-to-face interaction. Make sure you maintain a secure presence:
- Environment Check: Be aware of what is visible in your camera background (e.g., family photos, documents, mail with your address, certificates).
- Skip Immediately: If your chat partner behaves inappropriately, shows offensive content, or makes you feel uncomfortable, click the **Skip** button immediately. You have full control over when to leave.
- Block & Report: Work is underway to implement local blocking and reporting tools. In the meantime, skipping ends the WebRTC connection instantly and prevents reconnection with the same peer.
Common Scams & What to Avoid
Be alert to behavior that indicates a potential scam or bad actor:
- External Link Redirects: Beware of users asking you to visit third-party websites, download apps, or sign up for services to continue chatting. These are often phishing attempts.
- Financial Help Solicitations: Never send money, cryptocurrency, or gift cards to anyone you meet on the platform, regardless of their story.
- Automated Bots: If a user replies instantly with static links or repetitious phrases, skip them. They are likely an automated script or bot.
Community Standards
To maintain a clean and enjoyable experience for all users, we strictly prohibit:
- Harassment, bullying, or hate speech targeting race, gender, religion, or orientation.
- Sharing or broadcasting adult, explicit, or sexually graphic content.
- Any illegal behavior or promotion of unlawful activities.
- Spamming, advertising, or selling services/products.
